Other LTF

I had my tennis lessons today. They went pretty well! I decided to do my 5k training after, so I went on the treadmills at the "other" LTF. Well, they were super-cool! You can plug your iPod in and play around with it on the touch screen. Also, you can create workouts online and plug your USB cord into the treadmill and I guess it does it! There's a picture of a track on there and as you're running, it shows you how far you are around the track. I did 10.5 laps!

I burned 800 calories between tennis and 5k training. I'm doing amazing as far as the workouts go and eating pretty decent. Yesterday I had too much cake (1 cupcake+2 slices of a round cake), but it was my first time having cake in 4 months and I went to 2 parties. Ok, no excuses. I tracked it and moved on. Most came out of my weekly points.

I eat A LOT. Last week I had my normal 21 points per day, and I used an extra 65 points throughout the week! 30 of those were earned through working out and 35 were my weeklies. I find that I lose when I use all of my weeklies and activity points. I have been strength training for a little while now, and I realized that my body needs and uses the fuel.

16.5 GONE!

Weighed in this morning, down 2 pounds this week for a total of 16.5!

Worked out..Strictly Strength kicked my butt. It was a guy teacher today and we did a lot of arms. I love doing arms because that's where I need work on. I think my calves are too muscular already. Then, I did the elliptical with Mark for 20 mins. 5 Activity Points total!

I'm drinking a Green Monster right now. I perfected it by adding strawberries and pineapple this time and only using 1/2 of a banana. Great post-workout snack/meal!

Green Monster Thoughts

So, it was OK. I'm not a huge fan of banana, but I can eat them in moderation. I put WAY too much banana in it and it basically just tasted like a banana smoothie. Next time, I'm going to use 1/2 of a banana, strawberries, and pineapple. As far as the spinach goes, you can't even taste it! What a sneaky way to get vegetable and fruit servings in for the day!

I skipped the gym today. I just feel so tired/lazy/etc. I've worked out 4 days so far this week. I plan on doing yoga tonight before bed, no workout tomorrow, and running+weights Saturday. 6 day workout week! I've earned 27 AP's so far in just 4 days. Insane.

My eating has been 100% perfect yesterday and today (no going over and getting all of my healthy checks in). Here's hoping for perfect eating tomorrow and a perfect weigh in to follow on Saturday!!

Green Monster

Today, I'm going to try something crazy. Something that sounds ridiculous. Something that I'm probably very brave for trying. I'm going to make a Green Monster. What is that you ask? It's a smoothie with SPINACH in it.

This one is called the "Virgin Green Monster" for obvious reasons:
-2 cups spinach
-1 cup milk
-1 banana
-1/2 cup blueberries
- ice

I'll update later to post my success or fail at this attempt. People on this board that I follow swear that these give them energy, improve hair/skin/nails, and fill them up. It's worth a shot. I want to put a scoop of whey in it, too.

Yesterday was Day #2 of 5k training for the Tara Grant 5k in September. I'm trying to improve my time from last years. It was a tough run (mostly trail, which I was not ready for..), but I pushed through and ran (jogged) the whole thing. I skipped ahead to week #3 of the training because week #1 and week #2 were just way too easy because this isn't my first 5k.

I also went to a company picnic at the Zoo. I ate decent, filled my plate 1/2 with fruits/veggies, and 1/2 with a hot dog. I did have 2 cookies, but it's fine. I had enough activity in for the day. I drank water the entire time. It was great being there after it was closed to the public! The animals are so much more active at night, and there were so many more out than there normally are in the morning.

Today is weights day and 5k training then grocery shopping. It's my day off!

Tennis!

I just got home from my first tennis lesson. I like tennis, but I am TERRIBLE at it. Practice makes perfect, and luckily I have an amazing boyfriend that's great at tennis! I burned 522 calories in an hour and half, which is more of a workout than I expected it to be. We're going to practice tomorrow night together for a date..aww!

Boat Race

Weighed in this week after no weigh in last week. Up 1 pound, not too terrible.

Today, my parents and I went to watch the boats start in the Port Huron to Mackinac race. We stopped to eat at Bob Evans, and I got soup and salad for a total of 5 points!

Tomorrow I start my tennis lessons. I created a workout plan for the next month. I want to start training for the Tara Grant 5k at the end of September.

Moving Along!

I ca$hed in my 15 pound present to myself today and got my hair highlighted and cut! I'm so happy! I'm going to post an updated rewards list because I have decided to change it.

I'm excited that I'm STILL seeing the scale fall, even after 3 months. I want to lose another 10 before I decide on my final number. My body is slowly slimming in all areas, with my belly being the slowest. I'm hoping that it will be the last thing to go! I can't believe how much of a transformation I have seen in just 3 months.

I need to earn 5.5 AP's before Saturday to not be over my points for the week! Thursdays are yoga/zumba nights, with a typical 500-600 calories loss (5-6 Activity Points).

I'm back on track with workouts this week. So far:

Sunday:none
Monday: Kickboxing +5 AP's
Tuesday: Personal Training Session +3.5 AP's
Wednesday: Strictly Strength class +4 AP's.

65 Points

Went to a grad party yesterday..ate 65 points! I saved all 35 of my weeklies+ most of my regular points. I was over everything by 9.5. I earned 5 in activity points, so I just have to earn another 4.5. I weighed myself this morning and lost 0.7 since yesterday, even after eating like that!

I slept horrible last night. I have a feeling that is why I lost. Sleep schedule: 6:30-9:30 (yes, I fell asleep right when I got home..exhausted!), 10-1, 4-9. Basically 3 naps. I felt terrible this morning, but not as tired as the day went on.

Tomorrow, I'm going to Santino's for dinner. I planned ahead and I think I'm going to get a salad with no dressing or soup. It didn't list the soup of the day, so I'm hoping it's something good.

I hit my 10% Saturday. Total weight loss of 15.5 pounds! I used all of my extras this weekend camping, but made decent choices. Looking forward to continuing my journey.

Completely In Love...

...with almond butter! Where has this been all my life? I'm contemplating an almond butter/peanut butter/Nutella sandwich. Too many nut butters? I think not! Too many calories? Unfortunately...

I remember freaking out after an recurring allergic reaction. It lasted over 2 weeks. I honestly thought it was either peanut butter or Nutella and I was seriously worried. I can't live without PB! Turns out it was the Brita I had just bought..apparently I'm allergic to carbon filters. I returned it. I attempted to save the environment, but I failed.

This weekend I'm going camping. I'm allowing myself 1 S'more Saturday, 2 if I write down everything and exercise/do activity. I'm definitely trying something new..Dark Chocolate Reese instead of Hershey bar. Should be amazing.

I'm excited for a weekend away with Mark and my family! Even if it's only 2 days. Mark and I booked a Mackinaw trip last week. We are overdue for a vacation, it's already been 4 months since our Disney 5 year anniversary trip. We are planning a Disney trip for right after graduation. We wont' be flying first class or staying in a "Savanna View" this time. Budget! Anyway, that is off topic. I'm hoping to lose another 10 pounds by the Mackinaw trip on August 25th.
