8 pounds!

This week I lost 3 pounds, which brings my total weight loss to 8 pounds. My jeans that I just bought before FL are really loose, and I fit into my capris from last summer! I'm also noticing that my promise ring that Mark got me is constantly spinning around my finger. Yeah!

In just 1.5 pounds, I lose 1 point. It's sad that I have to start eating less, but I'm more excited about being in a new "decade."

On my way out of weigh in, some lady in the parking lot asked me "How are the scales today?" I said, "I LOST 3 POUNDS!" She was really excited and I know she could tell I was.

Also, I went to Meijer on my way home from work, and I had 3 coupons for a total of $4.25 off my order. This is exciting because after all of the sales and coupons, I walked out with 2 full big Whole Foods reusable bags of groceries for just $20!

So, all in all, it's been a good day. I'm semi-stressed about school because I have a lot of Calculus homework to do and a big test on Tuesday, but I've been working constantly on it, so hopefully I will get a big part of it done. As always, I'm optimistic.

Weigh In Tomorrow!

Let's hope it goes well! I didn't eat brownies the night before so I'm hoping for the best!

NO POINTS!

I used all my points for the day by 5 o'clock. I have 8 weeklies left and I don't want to use them all, but I might just have to. I planned out my meals, but I just ended up being more hungry after I got out of work.

Work has stressed me out a little..I just went from 20/25 hours to 9. Things are totally messed up and I hope they all get fixed soon. I need to keep saving for everything! I have to pay in for my classes next year because all of my grants only lasted 8 semesters. I only 6 classes and student teaching left! That may be the root of my eating today. I also have a final exam tomorrow, and lots of calculus homework to do. I should really get off this computer because I am accomplishing nothing. At least I only have 3 weeks left of classes!

M & M's

On the down side, those dark chocolate M & M's that I calculated to be 3 points are actually 5. How did I calculate wrong? ugh. I eat 1/4 c. microwaved at night for my treat. It looks like I'm cutting down to 1/8 of a cup, or I can continue with the 1/4c. and use my weeklies.

On the plus side, my home scale (WW brand) shows a total loss of 9 pounds!!! My scale has a thing where you can program up to 4 people's weight and it shows loss or gain amount after you weight. Well, my weight is now exactly 1 pound away from where I was in January of 2009. I'm on my way down!!

I decided to try and make mini goat cheese and turkey pizzas tonight. It was just a random thought yesterday in Kroger. Hopefully the come out tasting like I had imagined. I will update later with my overall thought of them and my recipe.

Update: These were AMAZING. Mark loved them, too! My sister is scared of goat cheese, but I assured her that the name is worse than the cheese.

Turkey and Goat Cheese Mini Pizzas

Makes 12

Nutrition Facts for 12:

Calories: 1430, Fats:52, Fiber:4, 32 points total

Nutrition Facts for 1:

Calories: 119, Fats:4, Fiber: 0, 3 points each.

Ingredients:
Thomas’ Better Start Light Multi-Grain English Muffins, 1 package
4 ounces Goat Cheese (I used 80 calorie, 5g. fat regular)
Pizza Sauce, 1 cup (I used Kroger Brand pizza parlor style)
Ground Turkey (I used two Jennie-O 95/5 Turkey burgers)

Directions:
1. Thaw turkey.
2. Heat oven to 400.
3. Break the thawed turkey apart and cook on the stove top.
4. Coat a baking sheet with non-stick spray and lay halves of the English muffins on the pan. It’s best to keep the inside/softer side of the muffin faced up because it will hold the toppings better.
5. Put 1 Tablespoon of Pizza Sauce on each English muffin, then spread.
6. Divide the turkey into 12, about 1 ounce of turkey each. Put turkey on mini pizzas.
7. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of goat cheese on each mini-pizza.
8. Bake 8-10 minutes.

P.F Chang's

I'm going to P.F Chang's tonight with Mark, Rose, and Andrew. I planned ahead. I will be getting the Buddha's Feast stir-fried with brown rice, packaging half up before eating, then getting a mini dessert if I feel like it (half stir fry: 4 pts, half rice: 3 points, mini dessert: 2-3 points, depending on which one). I don't want to use more than 5 of my weeklies today, but I still have 28 available.

Getting ready to make a breakfast smoothie. 1 WW Chocolate smoothie packet (1 p.t), 1 cup skim milk (2 pts), 2 teaspoons olive oil (3 points), and 1 teaspoon peanut butter (2 points). Total: 8 points. It should keep me full for a while. For those of you reading this and not doing WW, we have to get 2 teaspoons of olive oil in during the day and I find it easy to add it to the smoothie. You can't even taste it!

Update: All went well with dinner! I asked for a to go bag with my meal and packaged half up before I ate. The waiter laughed, but I didn't care. Now, I have lunch for the next day.

Week 2?

I am worried about weighing in today, even though I am doing it in the morning as opposed to night like the previous 2. Last night Ang made brownies. 'nuf said.

Update: +/- 0.0. I stayed the same.

The First Week is Over! Weigh-In #1

Well, today was my first weigh in. I wanted to scream when I heard how much I had lost. *Drum Roll* FIVE POUNDS!! I got my 5 pound star sticker at my first weigh in. I am so motivated and confident right now. I know that I can tackle what comes at me. Bring it on.

Day 5

Well, last night Mark and I ended up going to bd's. I was excited because it was in my dining out companion book, however, I found it more useful to just create my stir fry online and find the points with the total calories, fat, and fiber. It would have ended up being much less points with the dining out companion. Anyways, it turned out to be 11 points, but I rounded it up to 13 because I couldn't use exact measurements.

I had water with lemon, too. I find it so easy to drink a lot of water at restaurants. That's not different though, I rarely order pop and never order anything alcoholic. I don't drink. I feel like it's a waste of calories. I think that I've had maybe 4 drinks since I turned 21. Only 1 being in 2010. Go me!

After, we went to DQ for ice cream! I got a small cocoa fudge sundae (8 points). This went into my weekly extra points, but I still have 23 left for 2 days. I also found 0 point fudge bars at DQ, so Mark bought me a box. I can't wait to try them out tonight or tomorrow as a treat!

Today, my sister and I are going to bike ride around Stoney Creek (6 miles). We're just waiting for my dad to get home to see if he wants to join.

It's been 5 days since I've joined Weight Watchers and I feel much better already! It was easy to dive right in knowing that I HAVE to weigh in at the meetings. I'm really excited to weigh in and hopefully it shows a loss. I will be weighing in on Wednesday this week because I don't get home from class until about 8 at night.

Days 2-4

It's day 4. I already feel better and have noticed my new jeans getting looser! I'm hoping to weigh in at 5 pounds less on Tuesday. I went out to eat twice so far and made good choices (sushi-3 points, french onion (no bread bowl)-6 points).

Downfall: snacked late last night (100 cal cheez-its, 2 mini candybars). Not bad though!

Tonight is date night with Mark. He's supportive so I know that he will help me make good choices IF we decide to eat out. Though, I'm trying to change our date nights into mostly non-food related dates (i.e. no restaurants). I still have 31 free points left, though.

It's almost time for work! I'm packing myself 2 clementines so that I can get my two fruit requirements in on break.

Just Joined!

Well, today is Day 1. Officially. After much thought, I decided to invest in Weight Watchers. An investment, that's all. Investing in me. Lately, I have put money into a vacation, my savings, my boyfriend, my cricut, my education, etc. Now, me.

The scale has been tipping a lot lately. In high school, I was 132 pounds. I liked it, I felt fine. After going up a little, down a little, I settled in at 138. I wasn't happy with it, but it was ok. Last year, I weighed in for a Biggest Loser challenge at work at 149. Ouch. I cried. Tonight, 159.5. Ouch. The most I have ever weighed. 27.5 pounds away from my weight that I was satisfied with.

I transferred extra money into my checking account, fully expecting to burn a hole in my wallet in order to invest in myself. I spent $25. Thanks HAP! I didn't think I qualified for the discount, but I get a full 12 weeks on WW for just $25?!

My meeting tonight was at 5:30. It was the only night that worked for me because I have school and work all other times. I would have rather weighed in in the morning, but I know that I will still see a weight loss no matter what time my meeting falls.

This blog will be private. I won't tell anyone about it until I start losing weight and feeling better.

Goals: Weight: 125-135; Pants: 4 or 6
